My father, Jim Rooke, competed in the 2012 Tasman Revival Regularity Event with his Volante Ford. He received an award for Encouragement and Consistency and I would love to get copies of the photos taken of him on the podium receiving his award / cup. I have had the oppportunity of organising the Formula Ford series this year with HSRCA Formula Ford registrar John Pymble.
All the competitors had a great time.

Unfortunately there are many owners and racers of the old classics, Manx Norton, Velocette, Matchless, Triumph, JAP etc. who would have enjoyed participating but the high cost of entries and cost of garage space in addition to the normal costs of racing were just not affordable.

You must realise that most are in their senior years and now live on small fixed incomes, they do not have the luxury of sponsorship and cannot afford to participate under the conditions imposed by the organisers.

Many of us regret not being able to attend this year, hopefully, some consideration could be given to make it more affordable next year.

Perhaps consideration could also be given to a static display as suggested.
