Unfortunately there are many owners and racers of the old classics, Manx Norton, Velocette, Matchless, Triumph, JAP etc. who would have enjoyed participating but the high cost of entries and cost of garage space in addition to the normal costs of racing were just not affordable.

You must realise that most are in their senior years and now live on small fixed incomes, they do not have the luxury of sponsorship and cannot afford to participate under the conditions imposed by the organisers.

Many of us regret not being able to attend this year, hopefully, some consideration could be given to make it more affordable next year.

Perhaps consideration could also be given to a static display as suggested.

Will the motorcycles which were entered be offered free entry if they are prepared to at least display their motorcycles at the meeting? It would certainly enhance the event to include a static display even if we can’t have them race.

Sorry I have to work in Canberra on 23rd as I would have enjoyed assisting there.
